Onigiri (rice balls)

At the new nursery I have to make bento (packed lunch) twice a week. Rice balls have become really popular in our household. Sometimes the kids go out to play before I've had a chance to make breakfast so they can have rice balls on the go. Even the baby loves them!

Strawberries

My next door neighbour had a pot with a strawberry plant in it outside her door. Jin was utterly obsessed with them and the neighbour moved them onto her balcony. He was still obsessed with them and kept stealing the strawberries through the bars on her balcony even though I told him so many times not too touch them.

Today I potted up 3 strawberry plants for her to replace the fact that Jin has managed to pick all the strawberries before any of them were even ready.

Neighbour wasn't keen to take them so after some negotiations we decided I would keep the new plants up on my balcony wall and when they are ready her daughter could come over and help pick them.

I'm pleased with this compromise as it was really hard work keeping the boys away from her plants. Her daughter had been really looking forward to picking them so I felt bad for her. Hopefully they will be ready soon.

Spring cleaning

On Monday Kai and Jin's teachers will visit our house for a kind of parent/teacher meeting. I have been attempting to tidy up but I'm thinking about keeping my rainbow front door that the boys coloured in with their street chalks.

Chalk does wash off, doesn't it?
